Travelling with a vehicle

Take your bicycle
You can take your own bicycle on board. Buy your tickets online or at the desk in the terminal. After that, simply take your bicycle to assembly point for bicyles.
Travelling by car or another vehicle
Schiermonnikoog is a low-traffic island. For that reason, bringing a car, motorbike or moped is only allowed with an exemption from the Municipality of Schiermonnikoog. For more information, go to the website of the Municipality of Schiermonnikoog
Bringing a trailer or caravan
We only take online bookings for single-axle trailers without a towing vehicle, with a white licence plate and a maximum height of 1.75m. If you want to take this trailer on board, you can make use of a trailer dolly; our staff can inform you about the possibilities.
For all other trailers with a yellow licence plate in combination with a towing vehicle you have to make a booking by phone. We need your licence plate number and – if available – your customer number.
You cannot bring a caravan to Schiermonnikoog. Tent trailers with a linen hood are allowed. You can book a ferry crossing for a tent trailer in advance.
